How to customise your delivery date picker

Match your picker to your brand — colours, label text, date format, and layout. No CSS or code required.

The default Flare picker works out of the box — but it's designed to be adjusted. If your store has a specific colour palette, a preferred date format, or custom label text that matches your brand voice, you can configure all of it without touching code. The picker inherits your theme's typography by default, and everything else is adjustable from the Flare dashboard or the Theme Editor block settings.

This guide covers two things: how to change the visual styling (colours, accent, selected-date highlight) and how to change the text (label above the calendar, date format, placeholder text). Both take a few minutes and apply immediately.

Step by step

Customise your date picker

Part A covers visual styling. Part B covers text and labels.

Part A — Change colours and styling

Adjust the accent colour, selected-date highlight, and overall look from the Flare dashboard. Changes apply to every placement where the picker appears.

  1. Open the Flare app from your Shopify admin
  2. Go to Settings, then find the "Styling" or "Appearance" section
  3. Set your accent colour — this controls the selected-date highlight, active states, and button colour. Match it to your brand's primary colour.
  4. Adjust the calendar background, border style, and corner radius if your theme uses a specific design language
  5. Preview the changes on your live store to check they look right across placements
  6. Click Save
The picker inherits your theme's base typography (font family, base text colour) automatically. You only need to set the accent colour and any overrides — most merchants change just the accent colour and leave everything else at default.

Part B — Change label text and date format

Each placement has its own label text setting. Date format is set globally.

  1. Open the Shopify Theme Editor
  2. Navigate to the page where your picker is placed (cart, product, etc.)
  3. Click the Flare date picker block
  4. In the block settings panel, edit the label text — the heading that appears above the calendar (e.g. "Choose your delivery date", "When should we deliver?", "Select a date")
  5. Click Save
  6. For date format: in the Flare dashboard, go to Settings and choose your preferred format (DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, or written format like "Thursday 5 June")
Label text is set per placement — your slide cart can say "Delivery date" while your product page says "When do you need this?" Date format is global and applies everywhere the picker appears.
