How to add the delivery date picker to your cart page
Place delivery date selection on your full cart page using the Shopify Theme Editor. No code, no theme edits — works on every Shopify plan.
Some stores use a full cart page instead of a slide cart drawer — either because their theme defaults to it, or because the extra space suits their layout. Cart pages give customers a structured view of everything in their order alongside delivery date selection, the order summary, and the checkout button — all on one page with room to breathe. This is especially common for stores with complex carts: multiple line items, gift messages, upsells, or order notes.
If your store uses a slide cart instead, see the slide cart placement guide. If you're not sure which placement is right, see the full placement comparison.
This guide covers how to add the Flare date picker to your cart page through the Theme Editor, and how to customise its position and label text.
Add the date picker to your cart page
Part A gets the picker live. Part B covers optional customisation.
Part A — Add the date picker
This works with any Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme that supports app blocks in the cart template. Takes under five minutes.
- Install the Flare app from the Shopify App Store
- Open the Flare app and begin the setup flow
- In Step 1, click "Add to your theme"
- Under "Where do you want to place the picker?", choose "Cart Page"
- Click "Add to theme" — this opens the Shopify Theme Editor in a new tab
- Flare automatically inserts the cart page date picker into your cart layout
- Click Save in the top-right of the Theme Editor to make it live
- Return to Flare and confirm "Yes, it worked fine", then click Continue
- To test: go to Online Store > View your store, add an item to cart, navigate to your cart page, and confirm the picker appears
Part B — Customise position and label Optional
The default position and label work well for most stores. Adjust these only if your cart layout or branding requires it.
Change the picker position
By default, Flare places the date picker within the cart form section. To reposition it:
- Open the Shopify Theme Editor
- Navigate to the cart page template
- Drag the Flare app block to your preferred position within the cart layout
- Click Save
Change the label text
The default label is "Delivery date." To change it:
- In the Theme Editor, click the Flare date picker block
- In the block settings panel, edit the label text field
- Enter your preferred label (e.g. "Choose your delivery date", "When should we deliver?")
- Click Save
Your cart page with the date picker
Delivery date selection sits alongside the order summary — structured, spacious, no extra page load.

Cart page placement — answered
A cart page is a full, dedicated page your customer navigates to. A slide cart is a side panel that appears without leaving the current page. The date picker works the same way in both — the difference is layout and space. Cart pages give the calendar more room alongside the full order summary. Slide carts keep customers in their browsing flow. Choose whichever your theme uses by default, or use both.
It works with any Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme that supports app blocks in the cart template. This includes all Shopify-built themes and most third-party themes. If your theme uses a legacy cart template that doesn't support app blocks, contact the Flare team — there's usually a workaround.
Yes. Each placement is added separately through the Theme Editor. You can enable the cart page picker and the slide cart picker at the same time — Flare handles both independently. This is useful if your theme shows a drawer on mobile but redirects to the full cart page on desktop.
No. The cart page date picker works on every Shopify plan — Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus. Shopify Plus is only required if you want to place the date picker inside the checkout page itself. Cart page, slide cart, and product page placements work on any plan.
